The outstanding result of the weekend, however, was by the three junior players
which the squad 'borrowed' for the competition: Pip Hamilton of the Isle of Wight
and Dan Baker and Cameron Tubb of Southern Counties. They won 8 of the
9 games they played over the two days (plus two walkovers to give 11 out of 12)
and ended up as both the top junior team in Division 2 and the second highest-
scoring team overall in the Division. Neither Cornwall or Devon regions currently
have junior players and the combined squad was very fortunate to be able to bring
in such talented young players.
Well done the region, & well done our 8 representatives
We are proud of you all.
Dean Seville came 10th in Turkey

This took our team into the top 16, the last time we had a team at this stage of the World Championships was in
1999, La Reunion.

Hopes were high but the lads were not overconfident as they knew they were drawn against Italy, a very strong
team.

Unfortunately for us the Italian team were pointing very well on a difficult terrain and for the first time in this
championship our
shooting failed to reach the level it had in previous games resulting in a 13 – 0 loss.

Our final placing was joint 9th, our lads can hold their heads up high they played brilliantly, well done!
